Yeah dr Hans reasoning was correct but he went about it in a really bad way. He doesn’t give Shaun a warning for not communicating effectively but almost immediately gives him a different job away from surgery, Shaun says consistently “I’m a surgeon” because that’s his passion and what he’s good at, Shaun reacts in a highly emotionally way but was it irrationally? I don’t think so. Think about it this way, let’s say you mess up at a job due to poor communication and when this happens your boss decides to put you in an entirely different department, even if you explain to them that it was just a mistake and your excellent at all other areas of the job; your boss doesn’t listen and you tell them over and over again but they persist in not letting you do the job your good at and love to do, you would most definitely not just be like “mkay” you would react in an emotional manner because what your saying isn’t being listened to or taken seriously and it’s like talking to a brick wall. Dr Han saying “I fired him because of his emotional outrage and because he was irrational” is bullshit because he was only like that because dr Han made him have a breakdown and made him he irrational by not listening to him.

The issue is that Shaun is direct and humans aren’t wired to accept direct honesty. He’s not bad at communicating to patients, he has poor “social” skills. Humans aren’t able to just look the truth head on for some reason…so the neurotypical dance around the truth and say others are weird for standing in it.
